Paula Rego: Unique Hand-Colored Prints

September 11 - October 22, 2018

A selection of unique hand-colored lithographs and etchings by Paula Rego explore human relationships through the artist’s own cast of personal characters, she’s unafraid of using literary narratives and allegories as a vehicle to comment on social issues and the female experience.

Artist Paul Coldwell looks back on his decade-long collaboration with Paula Rego in the 1980s and 1990s, when he printed some of her best-known works, including ‘Nursery Rhymes’, ‘Peter Pan’ and the controversial ‘Abortion’ series.

The artist's peers, including Tracey Emin and Marlene Dumas, asked the veteran Portuguese artist about different aspects of her artistic practice for a new book.
